Grabbing the nearest motherboard, the Gigabyte X670E Aorus Pro X, you can see how well the XPG Lancer Blade looks in its white colourway.

We especially like how low profile it is. Anyone who has a beefy CPU air cooler will know the woes of tall memory. XPG have taken us back to the days when memory was a sane height. Excellent.

You can also see how the slight waves in the heatspreader increase the surface area of the XPG Lancer Blade RGB DIMMs. At these speeds anything that can help keep the temperatures low is good in our book.

Black

Should you prefer your motherboards to be black then a more familiar colourway is available. Here demonstrated in the Z790 Aorus Master X. The angular slashes in the heatspreader echo the ones in the M.2 heatsink. Serendipitous.

There is always going to be a compromise with the power off. You can’t have lighting and an all-black look. As we’ll see on the next page the XPG Lancer Blade makes up for this ‘power off’ look with gorgeous lighting.
