Corsair TC500 LUXE Frost Chair Review

Here it is in all its glory. Immediately you can see that when it’s listed as Frost, Corsair weren’t kidding. Normally white chairs have black bolsters. Indeed they’re often so black that they call to mind the problem Marty had in Madagascar, as to whether it’s a black chair with white or a white chair with black. The Corsair TC500 LUXE has no such problems. It is white. White in all departments but the plastics.
Oh and the Corsair logos are black too. Showing off your branding is big business with the advent of streaming. You get a free chair on the understanding people can see the brand so they’ll buy one. It’s the way that works. Why else would there be branding on anything? You know what you brought after all. See also carrier bags from any shop.
If you’ve investigated chairs before then the head pillow will be the first thing to make you sit up and take notice. No elastic strap. No velcro. Just pure magnetism. You can also see how curved the shoulder area is.
The star of the show is the LUXE fabric. At a glance it looks like leather. Or at least ‘vegan’ leather. Run your fingers across it and you would be forgiven for assuming it is suede. However it breathes just like fabric. It’s all things to all people.
The diamond pattern certainly grabs your attention whilst also giving texture and depth to the visual side of things. The area at the left – right as you look at it here – where the centre and side bolster patterns don’t line up makes our brain itch. But we accept it’s impossible to use multiple sheets of material and line them up perfectly at this price point. It’s why bespoke is so expensive after all. You have to pay for the wasted material. And 99% of the time you’re sitting on this anyway so it matters not.
