A handsome router from MSI

MSI’s RadiX AXE6600 is a great looking product, offering users a sleep and stylish design that wouldn’t look out of place on an office shelf or on a desk. While the router’s RGB lighting may not be to everyone’s tastes, those who dislike the AXE6600’s RGB antennas can simply turn off the LEDs within this router’s settings. Simple.

Below we can see the RadiX AXE6600’s MSI shield logo, which doubles as a button for this router design. pressing this button will set the router to AI QOS mode, telling the router to dynamically prioritise data packets based on what’s currently being done on the network. This button is also RGB illuminated.

The rear of MSI’s RadiX AXE6600 router looks like most other routers. Below we can see the router’s power input, its reset switch, a USB port, and the router’s dedicated 2.5Gb WAN port. Below we can also see the router’s four 1Gb LAN ports, one of which can become a WAN port should users want to connect the 2.5Gb port to something else.

It is a shame that MSI didn’t design this router with more than one 2.5Gb ethernet connections, as it would be good to be able to have multiple wired devices communicate though 2.5Gb connections, or to have the ability to connect this router to a 2.5 Gb internet connection and then connect this router to a PC using 2.5 Gb ethernet. Having only on 2.5 Gb ethernet port is limiting, though it is worth remembering that most people cannot even access fast enough connections though their ISPs to make Gb ethernet a bottleneck.
