MSI RadiX AXE6600 WiFi 6E Tri-Band Gaming Router Launch Overview

Conclusion – An impressive entry into the router market

Routers are one of the most important and under looked parts of any gaming setup. Most of us simply utilise the router that our ISP gave us, a router that more often than not offers users very little in the way of control over our home networking setups and are produced en masse as cheaply as possible. Yes, these routers get the job done, but they can also leave a lot to be desired.

MSI are the newest company to enter the gaming router market, hoping to challenge their rivals with their AI QOS features, strong thermal design, and high speed WiFi 6E connectivity. To add some extra flair into the mix, MSI are also the first to offer users RGB WiFi antennas, something that certainly sets MSI apart from their rivals.

We have only had a limited time to look at MSI’s AXE6600 router, but so far we are impressed. It does everything that we expect from a high-end router, and gives us more than a few reasons to shelve our ISP’s router. While we were unable to properly test this router’s WiFi 6E capabilities, were are more than impressed with the results that we achieved with MSI’s AX1800 WiFi 6 USB dongle, which was able to deliver us near 500 Mbps downloads from our router at a significant distance from our router and through several brick walls.

This is not a review of MSI’s new RadiX AXE6600, it is an early look at MSI’s new RadiX lineup. In time, we hope to conduct more testing and check out the WiFi 6E capabilities of this router whenever we have a compatible WiFi 6E product to test it with. For now, we can say that the RadiX has a easy to use online interface, it is has a simple setup process, and it has left us excited to see what else MSI has on the horizon. We already know that MSI has a RadiX BE22000 WiFi 7 router in the works, and it looks beastly.
