Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Review

Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Review

Introduction

There are many things that people consider when purchasing a new system. However, for reasons we don’t understand ergonomics is one of the elements that’s nearly always left on the cutting room floor.

Even if you only spend an hour a day in front of your rig then you’ll know the importance of a comfortable setup, and when you spend as many hours in front of it as we do then you’d be a fool to not properly invest in a place to sit that is comfortable for those marathon sessions. We know we can’t be the only people who’ve been called round to a friend or family member to sort out their system, being the ‘family IT person’, and nearly always they have monitors with no height adjustment, placed upon a flimsy chipboard desk, and with a chair that we’d be upset using to have our hair cut, let alone spending hours working with.

noblechairs feel like they’ve only been around since yesterday, but already they’ve become the dominant force in high-end, comfortable, flexible seating solutions. The market is awash with chairs which feel little better than the value seating at your local council office, or have instead gone all in on the looks side of things without considering quality. With chairs made in Germany, and with models to suit everyone from real leather aficionados to vegan options to those who prefer a touch of cloth, there is going to be a chair to suit everyone. When they first appeared we reviewed their flagship model, the Elite, and found it to be extraordinarily comfortable and robust, with just a couple of minor areas we’d like to improve.

Since then noblechairs have tweaked and refined their formula so it was time to take a look at the newest model in their burgeoning range, the HERO Black Edition. It’s available in synthetic leather, real leather, fabric and their latest addition, the High-Tech Faux Leather which is the model we have today. This has all the class of the real leather model, but is considerably more affordable, priced £30 above their cloth and synthetic leather options, but promising to be both durable and soft. In a form factor perfect for those of you who don’t want to pretend you’re in a racecar, how does it stack up against the competition?
