Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

CPU Performance

More cores, more better! Black Ops 6 loves high core count CPUs

If there is one thing that Black Ops 6 loves, it’s having access to more CPU cores. Whenever we disabled cores on our i9-13900K, performance dropped. Black Ops 6 even liked having Intel’s E-cores enabled, something that not all games utilise efficiently. Moving from six cores to 8 cores sees our first percentile framerates increase by 23%, and average framerates increase by 18%. Adding on E-cores results in further performance gains, though we see diminishing returns.

Ideally, PC gamers will be playing Black Ops 6 on a CPU with 8 or more CPU cores. That said, six cores should be ample for a 60+ FPS experience. Sadly, I do not have an AMD V-Cache enhanced CPU for testing, which means that we cannot access the impact of AMD’s X3D technology on this game.
