Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

RX 5700 VS RTX 2060 – Performance Scaling – Low, Medium, High and Max

When looking at the GPU market today, the comparison point that everyone’s looking out for is Turing VS Navi. That’s right, a traditional AMD VS Nvidia, Radeon VS Geforce Showdown!

In our testing, we used an Nvidia RTX 2060 Founders Edition and a PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 Red Devil. Why these models? These are the models that we currently have access to for game testing. It’s as simple as that. Our game tester cannot test hardware that he doesn’t have on hand to test.

Our benchmarking data below comes from mission five from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s campaign, where we feel some of the game’s most demanding loads are best simulated. The fact that this comparison is done at 4K should showcase how well this game performs on modern graphics hardware, though it should also show that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare favours Radeon graphics hardware in a BIG way.

Using Modern Warfare’s basic graphics options only offers a limited amount of performance scaling. This is good news for those who prefer high-quality visuals, as even Modern Warfare’s lower graphics settings can look good, but it also means that gamers must rely on resolution scaling to achieve higher framerates in a lot of cases.
