Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

4K Performance – Benchmark Results

As always, 4K resolutions can bring today’s graphics cards to their knees. That said, Modern Warfare can still offer stellar performance on some reasonably affordable kit. Yes, it may take an RTX 2080 Ti to get 60+ FPS framerates at practically all times, but even the RX 5700 XT maintain averages in the 60FPS ballpark.

With the right settings adjustments, and perhaps some minor resolution scale tinking, faux-K 60FPS framerates on a full-4K screen should be easy to achieve on more budget-oriented setups. You need not spend thousands to get 60+ FPS framerates on your 4K screen, assuming that you are willing to make the right trade-offs.

This is where we would have loved to have seen variable resolution scale support on PC. This feature has been implemented in other games to deliver more stable framerates and higher game resolution when there isn’t heavy GPU load. The console versions of Modern Warfare can do this, and so can other PC games. While the game’s existing resolution scaling options are useful, a dynamic option would have been a welcome addition on PC.
