Company of Heroes 3 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

VRAM Use

Company of Heroes 3 is a game that doesn’t have insane VRAM demands. At 1080p, an 8GB GPU has enough VRAM to play the game with its highest texture settings, and at 1440p 8GB GPU users face no major problems. At 4K, Company of Heroes 3 players can face difficulties if their GPU has less than 10GB of VRAM, and at 8K gamers will want a GPU with 16GB or more of VRAM. That said, at 8K you will need an incredibly powerful GPU to run this game at 60+ FPS maxed out.

If you are using a 6GB graphics card to run Company of Heroes 3, you should probably use this game’s medium texture setting, as this will ensure that your system does not become VRAM limited. This will result in less detailed textures being used by the game, though this is not a major issue if you are running the game at 1080p. Company of Heroes 3’s higher resolution textures only have a major impact when the game is played at a high resolution like 1440p or higher.
