DLSS VS FSR in Call of Duty Vanguard

Call of Duty Vanguard is now available on PC and consoles, with the PC version launching with support for Nvidia’s DLSS technology and AMD’s FSR technology on day-1, giving PC gamers a great way to enhance the performance of COD’s latest iteration while still maintaining crisp visuals.

With upscaling technologies like FSR and DLSS, high framerates at high resolutions like 4K have become much more achievable, which is great news given the increasing commonality of 4K 120Hz televisions and 4K 144Hz monitors. With upscaling technologies, gamers can achieve similar visual results to native resolution rendering while achieving higher framerates in-game, allowing gamers to benefit from the increased smoothness of higher framerates, or benefit from using higher in-game graphics settings.

Call of Duty Vanguard is a fast-paced first-person shooter, making high framerates mandatory for competitive play on PC. This makes upscaling technologies incredibly useful for players who want the sharpness of high-resolution gameplay and the advantages offered by higher framerates.

In this analysis, we will be looking at Nvidia’s DLSS technology and AMD’s FSR technology in Call of Duty Vanguard. Our testing will be conducted using an RTX 3070 Ti and we will be comparing our results with Call of Duty Vanguard’s resolution scaler.
