Halo Reach PC Performance Review with AMD Ryzen APU Testing

4K Performance

Let’s get started with something simple. We recommend playing Halo Reach with the game’s framerate locked to 60FPS. With the game’s framerate locked, it’s more stable, and has less to no framerate variation with the right hardware.

Even at 4K, 60FPS framerates remain a doddle for modern hardware. Yes, our old R9 380 and GTX 960 fell below this lofty target, but it is worth remembering that these old 2GB graphics cards already sit in PC gaming’s retirement pile. In both the new and used markets, Nvidia’s GTX 1060 and Radeon’s RX 580 graphics card are extremely affordable, making their ability to run Halo Reach at 4K 60FPS a real feather in their respective caps.

This means that even those with mid-range graphics cards can connect their PCs to a 4K TV to enjoy Halo: Reach at a crisp 4K resolution and a smooth 60FPS framerate. Now that’s what I call good news.
