Anisotropic Filtering Issues – This Needs to be Fixed!

At the time of writing, Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Anisotropic Filtering settings are broken. The only way to activate this standard graphics feature in Horizon Zero Dawn it to force the setting through your GPU drivers, but this can generate graphics corruption in some systems.

In our testing, forcing this setting with Nvidia’s drivers caused major graphical issues, which means that we cannot recommend forcing Anisotropic Filtering to 16x through Nvidia’s drivers at this time. That said, when the setting works it significantly improves Horizon Zero Dawn’s visuals on PC.

Guerilla Games need to fix this issue immediately, as it is causing Horizon Zero Dawn’s terrain to look soft and low-resolution. Nvidia should also work to address this corruption issue when x16 Anisotropic Filtering is forced using their Geforce Drivers.
