Port Report - Yakuza 6: The Song of Love

4K Performance

Yakuza 6’s visuals really pop at 4K, eliminating most of the game’s aliasing while also allowing us to see the attention to detail that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has poured into every facet of Yakuza 6. While aliasing can still be seeing at 4K, Yakuza 6 looks marvellous at this resolution, making the PC platform one of the best places to play Yakuza 6.

For a stable 60 FPS at 4K, we need stronger graphics cards… Yes, our RTX 6800 comes close to 60 FPS average and 5th percentile framerates, but a smooth 60 is not achieved at all times. We have mentioned before that a 100% 60 FPS framerate is not possible on our system thanks to Yakuza 6’s stuttering issues, but most of the game can run at 60 FPS outside of large area traversal.

With our RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 3070 and RX 6800, solid (outside of stutters) 60 FPS gameplay can be achieved with a small decrease in resolution scale to around 90%. While this does lower the game’s resolution from native 4K to around 1,944p, this small resolution drop is of little consequence. Yes, it reduces sharpness a little and adds a little to aliasing, but the framerate boost is worth it, and the change is really hard to notice during gameplay.
