Samsung 9100 Pro 8TB Review

Temperature Testing

Low temperatures are the cornerstone of smooth, consistent transfer rates. You can buy drives either bare or with a heatsink. Most modern motherboards are designed in such a way a pre-installed heatsink might be problematic. At least this graph shows if you need to pay close attention to airflow across the lower half of your motherboard. The Samsung 9100 Pro 8TB hits the same peak temperature as it’s 2TB sibling. Similar caveats have to be made as we did with that, namely in regular use you won’t get anywhere near these temps. We’re deliberately torturing it.
