Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We have to confess we’re unsure about the split hue case. Either go all white or all black, surely? Front on it’s not too bad, but the next picture will emphasise why we aren’t overly keen.

It just looks indecisive. A bit of white, with a white motherboard backplate. It reminds us of a car with a replacement panel from the scrapyard. Again, you might like this. It’s not for us.

Around the back we find enough connections for just about everyone. CyberpowerPC also supply the R5XT with a big sticker ensuring you don’t plug your monitor into the motherboard display outputs. That probably saves many phone calls to their technical support department.

Whilst we might not enjoy the odd colour choice, there is no denying that in all other regards the case is excellent. A panoramic glass panel is the star of the show, but it’s worth noting the build quality is solid too. We don’t know who the OEM is, but CyberpowerPC have clearly chosen wisely.

Like all packaged systems the Ultra R5XT has the foampak insert. The power cable is behind this too, ensuring you can’t turn it on without removing it.

Inside

Once it’s open you can see the quality CyberpowerPC put into the build. Everything carefully tucked away. We have to say we were shocked to see a Ryzen 7 9700X only cooled by a CyberpowerPC V4-NXP. If there is one truth about the AMD Ryzen processors it’s that they’re not the coolest CPUs on the block. We’re particularly surprised given that the default landing page listed an AIO, and the pictures certainly do.

Otherwise the MSI motherboard is understated, free from any RGB. The Kingston Fury RAM on the other hand is like Blackpool illuminations.

It’s fair to say we’ve never seen an ASRock GPU before. A quick glance shows why. It’s like the heatsink was trapped in a box from 2007. However, classics never go out of fashion, and the RX 9060 XT is famously cool. Similar to our comments about the CPU cooler, we hope nobody buys this expecting to receive the ROG card shown.

Lit Up

Just because the CyberpowerPC Ultra R5XT comes at the affordable end of the price spectrum doesn’t mean you’re giving up on visual splendour. The combination of heavy RGB and panoramic glass side work splendidly.
