Clock and Storage Speeds
The drive in our Raider review sample is very average indeed. We understand that a regular SSD on the SATA interface should get around 530MB/s and we’re not expecting speeds that rival an M.2 NVMe offering, but even so 420 MB/s isn’t exactly going to set the world on fire.
The Intel Core i7-8750H is a six core, twelve thread CPU that can boost up to 3.9 GHz although runs a fair bit slower than that if you’re stressing all the cores. This is the second laptop we’ve reviewed that is based around this latest Intel CPU so it’s nice to have a clear comparison.
The GTX 1070 in the GE73 Raider 8RF is overclocked which should bring some high FPS to our gaming adventures. Before we reach that point let’s find out how the CPU stacks up.
