PC Specialist Recoil II GTX 1060 Laptop
Clock and Storage Speeds
The six core Intel Core i7-8750H runs at a fairly slow 2.1 GHz most of the time to help save power, whilst it can turbo all the way up to 4.1 GHz in extremely light applications, the best we saw during our time was the 3.9 GHz you see below. Obviously nearly 4 GHz across 12 threads for under £1400 is exceptional value for money, and it’s nice to know that when things get heavy the processor can step up and keep you moving along.
NVMe storage has rapidly become the de facto standard OS drive solution and the Intel 760 that beats at the heart of the Recoil II wont ever leave you twiddling your thumbs waiting for it to catch up. Even the 4K block size transfer rate – the death knell to less capable drives – is impressive.
