PCSpecialist Arc Nova S Review

We’ve seen this Corsair case surrounding pretty much every PCSpecialist system where price is remotely a consideration. It’s exactly as much case as you need, no more, no less. Functional.
Probably the biggest thing of which to be aware with the Arc Nova S is the limited USB ports on the Gigabyte B760 motherboard. If you plan to stream you’ll have to invest in a USB hub.
Although the Intel Arc graphics cards might not be as famous as the Nvidia and Radeon ones, it doesn’t mean you’re bereft of connection options. A single HDMI and three DisplayPorts are enough to keep you entertained.
We can’t wait until Corsair produce an updated version of this case that includes a Type-C port for the same price. Pretty much all our smart devices use USB Type-C, and in the numbers Corsair produce it can’t cost much more to include one.
If you read all our system reviews you’ll have grown weary of us extolling the virtues of the InstaPak foam material. The fact every system we’ve ever been sent from the Wakefield company has arrived in mint condition is all the testimony it needs.
Internals
As a system very much at the affordable end of the price spectrum, the PCS Arc Nova S looks very familiar inside. It’s like the systems of old with a simple motherboard, 120mm air cooler and no RGB lighting. That doesn’t mean it can’t do a job. Far from it. It just means that it’s a utilitarian design aimed at delivering performance on your monitor for the smallest outlay from your wallet.
As is always the case with a PCSpecialist rig, you aren’t guaranteed of a particular GPU brand. We’ve got a Sparkle version of the Intel Arc B580, here in a perfect Intel blue shade. We’d also ask you to pay attention to how carefully the cables have been tidied away. Low pricing doesn’t mean a low level of build detail. A PCSpecialist hallmark.
