Zotac RTX 4070 AMP AIRO Review
Introduction
There is a school of thought that says it’s possible to have too much choice. Once you’ve ticked boxes for a value product, a midrange one, and the luxury version, any more than that just fills people with the dread that they could have purchased the next model up for only a little extra and got something better.
Of course, that’s looking at business from the perspective of the consumer. From the perspective of the supplier you want a model that fits in every single possible bracket, and Nvidia have done just that with the launch of their RTX 4070. If the RTX 4090 is for those who accept nothing but the best, the 4080 for those who want worry free gaming in anything at all, the 4070Ti is for those who can scrape by with some 4K gaming in certain titles but don’t mind compromising in the more stern tests, the RTX 4070 is very much aimed at those of you gaming in the 1440P sweet spot who might need 4K for some Indie titles, but otherwise accept a more affordable way of getting DLSS3 in their rig.
Yesterday we saw the MSRP cards coming in at a much more affordable £589 when compared to some of the 3000 series prices. Now we can look at the cards which bring a little more sizzle to the party. We’re starting with the Zotac RTX 4070 AMP AIRO. The Zotac brand name will be familiar to all of you, having released quality products for years and years. Their AMP range in particular is always a highlight of any card they apply their magic to, and the AIRO has a curvaceous cooler, perfect if you’ve grown tired of monolithic designs.
