Capcom accidentally removed Denuvo from Resident Evil 2, making the DRM-free executable available online

Denuvo is infamous amongst gamers due to allegations over the technology’s performance impact, increasing game loading times while also reducing game performance by sapping away CPU cycles. Now that a Denuvo-free executable for Resident Evil 2 is available online, PC gamers now have a chance to compare Resident Evil 2’s performance and loading times when Denuvo is enabled or disabled, providing some interesting data points for the PC community. 
 
We hope to test the performance impact of Denuvo in Resident Evil 2 later this week, though it is likely that the performance delta will be similar to what we have seen in Devil May Cry 5.
