Middle Earth: Shadow of War PC Performance Review
Introduction
Middle Earth: Shadow of War has a mixed perception within the gaming community, whether you are a fan of the original looking for another fix of the game’s iconic “nemesis system” or a gamer who is in strong opposition to the game due to its addition of a “loot box” system.
Regardless of your own opinions, it is undeniable that Middle Earth: Shadow of War is one of this year’s most highly anticipated releases, offering an increased scope, higher levels of graphical fidelity and a greater focus on the player’s interactions with Orc captains.
A lot of focus has also been given to the game’s visuals this time around, with Monolith raising the technological bar by dropping Xbox 360/PS3 support and bringing higher resolution versions of the game to market using the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, promising to make good use of today’s console hardware.
What will be interesting to find out is whether or not this focus on hardware will be seen on PC as well as consoles. Will this be an AAA PC release, or is Warner Brothers giving us another Arkham Knight?
Drivers
As always, we will be using the most recent drivers from AMD and Nvidia at the time of release. This means that we will be testing this game with AMD’s Radeon Software Crimson ReLive 17.10.1 Driver and Nvidia’s Geforce 387.92 driver.
