Lian Li LANCOOL 207 PC Case Review
Lian Li Re-invents ATX with the LANCOOL 207
Lian Li is re-inventing the ATX layout with their LANCOOL 207
With their new LANCOOL 207, Lian Li is rethinking the standard ATX PC case layout. Today’s PC feature more power-hungry components, and the ATX layout is relatively ancient when it comes to PC hardware. The standard rear/bottom PSU mounting location may be the standard, but it isn’t optimal. That’s why Lian Li moved their PSU mounts on the LANCOOL 207. With the 207, Lian Li has used the traditional PSU mounting spot to mount two 120mm fans, providing direct airflow to your GPU and add-in cards.
We first saw this case at Computex 2024, and today, we will finally be reviewing this new budget-oriented PC case.
Two bottom-mounted fans for dedicated GPU airflow
In recent years, GPUs have become increasingly power-hungry. Nvidia’s RTX 1080 Ti launched with a TDP of 250 watts. Today’s RTX 4090 has a TDP of 450 watts. This change has forced PC case manufacturers to take GPU cooling more seriously. This is why Lian Li’s 207 comes with four pre-installed intake fans, many of which are optimally located to deliver strong GPU airflow.
Below, you can see the LANCOOL 207’s front-mounted PSU and its two bottom-mounted 120mm fans.
At the top of the LANCOOL 207, there is space to mount up to a 280mm or 360mm liquid cooling radiator. This makes this case ideal for use with CPU liquid cooling solutions. This case supports 280mm radiator/fan combinations up to 60mm thick, and 360mm radiator/fan combinations up to 70mm thick without interfering with other hardware.
