Nvidia RTX 50 series launch knocks Overclockers UK offline

RTX 50 series demand takes down one of the UK’s top PC components retailers

Have you been trying to get hold of an RTX 5080 or RTX 5090? If you have, you’ve probably been having issues. Buyers are swamping PC parts retailers, and that has made most retail websites slow and unresponsive. In fact, demand for RTX 50 series GPUs was high enough to take Overclockers UK Offline, at least temporarily.

Overclockers UK is one of the UK’s largest PC components retailers, and their servers have been hit hard by would-be RTX 50 series buyers. At launch, Overclockers UK’s website reported host errors, and even now, their website displays pre-launch joke prices of £25,000 for Nvidia’s RTX 5090 graphics cards.

Currently, it is unknown if anyone has been able to purchase an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 using Overclockers UK’s website. When will the website return to normal? Who knows… Godspeed to the server folks who need to get things back up and running.

Our reviews of Nvidia’s RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 GPUs are live and available to read.
