Intel Xeon “Diamond Rapid” CPU leaks with up to 192-cores

192-core Intel Xeon CPU leaks with 500W TDP

Next year, Intel will introduce new Xeon CPU models under the “Diamond Rapids” brand. A new slide detailing these new CPUs has leaked, unveiling several key specifications for Intel’s upcoming “Xeon 7” CPU lineup.

For starters, Intel’s new Diamond Rapid CPUs will reportedly feature up to 192 CPU cores across four tiles. These CPUs are all using Intel’s P-Core (Performance Core) designs. Furthermore, these CPUs will reportedly he available with TDPs as high as 500 watts.

Intel’s Diamond Rapids SOC will reportedly use Intel’s 18A lithography node and support eight or sixteen DRAM channels. These CPUs will also support PCIe 6.0, something that AMD’s next-generation Venice CPUs will also support.

Rumour has it that Intel’s new Diamond Rapids CPUs will utilise a new LGA 9324 socket from Intel. This socket will be part of Intel’s new “Oak Stream” platform, and will enable upgrades like PCIe 6.0 connectivity and support for additional DRAM channels.

Other additions to Diamond Rapids include increased AMX efficiency, support for native TF32 and FP8 data formats, and continued support for 2-socket and 4-socket hardware configurations.
