Lisuan Tech showcases 6nm “eXtreme” 7G100 GPU with DX12 support

Lisuan Tech showcases China’s first 6nm DirectX 12 GPU, the 7G100

Lisuan Technology has showcased a new 6nm gaming GPU called the 7G100, an “eXtreme” series graphics card that was “fully self-developed” in China.

This new graphics card claims to support DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0. Note that this GPU lacks support for ray tracing, making it incompatible with Microsoft’s modern DirectX 12 Ultimate feature set. Note that this GPU was likely built using SMIC’s 6nm technology, not TSMC’s.

With a 3DMARK Fire Strike Score of 26,800 and a 3DMARK Steel Nomad Score of 2,268, the 7G100 sits between Nvidia’s RTX 4060 and RTX 5050. The graphics card features 12GB of GDDR6 memory. Additionally, the GPU supports features like hardware-accelerated AV1 and HEVC encode/decode.

Power-wise, this GPU uses a single 8-pin PCIe power connector and features a 16x PCIE 4.0 slot.

A Chinese DLSS competitor?

Lisuan Technology has reportedly created a custom upscaling solution called NRSS. This tech is an upscaling solution that reportedly rivals AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS. It can dynamically optimise rendering quality to deliver high-performance results. It is currently unknown if this is an AI upscaler or a non-AI upscaler. Image quality comparisons were not showcased at the 7G100’s reveal event.

Gaming-wise, the 7G100 was reportedly able to play Black Myth Wukong at 70+ FPS at 1080p High settings. The graphics card was also showcased running Blender, highlighting the GPU’s usability in more professional use cases.

While the Lisuan Tech 7G100 looks impressive, it currently lacks a release date. Furthermore, the GPU lacks support for essential features, such as ray tracing. Performance-wise, it appears to be outperformed by entry-level GPUs from AMD and Nvidia. If Lisuan Tech wants to sell this GPU, it will need to be very affordable.

Lisuan Technology reportedly aims to start mass producing the 7G100 in September.
