ROG Xbox Ally Pricing Leaks – Preorders to start at Gamescom

ROG Xbox Ally pre-orders are due to go live at Gamescom 2025

The folks over at Dealabs have managed to uncover the pricing of Microsoft’s ROG Xbox Ally consoles, stating that pre-orders for the devices will start at Gamescom 2025 on August 20th.

The ROG Xbox Ally is due to cost €599, and the ROG Xbox Ally X is due to cost €899. This makes the ROG Xbox Ally X the most expensive Xbox system to date. This pricing matches that of prior leaks for this device.

Microsoft and ASUS ROG plan to showcase their new handhelds at Gamescom 2025 at their respective booths. At the Xbox booth, gamers will be able to try out Hollow Knight: Silksong, Roblox, Sea of Thieves, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. More games will be playable at the ASUS ROG booth.

Following our recent investigations, we were able to confirm the pricing of Xbox’s upcoming portable consoles. Unsurprisingly, they match the previous leaks: €599 for the Xbox Ally and €899 for the Xbox Ally X.

Among other data we gathered, we were able to identify the launch date for pre-orders. Both models will go on sale from Wednesday, August 20, 2025 .

Why is there such a large price gap between these Xbox handhelds? The simple answer is that the new Ally X features more/faster memory, a more powerful processor, a larger battery, and extra features like USB4.

These new handhelds will use a new version of Windows 11 that boasts some gaming-focused improvements. This includes the “Xbox Full Screen Experience“, which is said to increase battery life, reduce VRAM usage, and boost gaming performance. This change alone reportedly drops idle power draw by two-thirds. Furthermore, it frees up system resources to help games run faster.
