Nvidia reportedly cuts down 8GB GPU production in response to low sales

According to a report from Channel Gate, via IT HOME, Nvidia has been forced to lower its production of 8GB graphics cards in response to lower-than-expected demand. Nvidia’s 8GB RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti GPUs have been affected, with production cutbacks aiming to stabilise supply and demand. These changes will help Nvidia stabilise its GPU pricing.

Nvidia has reportedly dropped RTX 5060 8GB production by 15% and RTX 5060 Ti 8GB production by 30%. Production of Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is unaffected by this change.

Last month, data from Mindfactory confirmed that 16GB graphics cards accounted for around 80% of GPU sales at the company. Clearly, today’s gamers want graphics cards that feature more VRAM. This has resulted in poor sales for Nvidia’s 8GB graphics cards. 8GB graphics cards can struggle to play many modern PC releases without performance issues.
