You’ll need a lot of RAM to play 007 First Light at 1080p 60 FPS

IO Interactive recommends 12GB of VRAM for 1080p 60 FPS gameplay in 007 First Light

IO Interactive has released the PC system requirements for 007 First Light, which reveal that PC gamers will need a lot of RAM to play it optimally. For 1080p 60 FPS gameplay, 32 GB of RAM and 12GB of VRAM are recommended. For context, that’s as much RAM as an Xbox Series X (16GB), PlayStation 5 (16GB), and Nintendo Switch 2 (12GB) combined.

007 First Light is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2. As such, it’s likely that the game’s real-world RAM requirements are much lower. That said, PC games tend to require more memory than their console counterparts. After all, PC OS’ tend to use more memory, and PC games tend to have higher-end visuals than their console counterparts. Regardless, this game’s RAM requirements seem excessive.

These PC system requirements make no sense

First Light’s recommended GPUs are AMD’s Radeon RX 6700 XT and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. IO Interactive recommends 12GB of Video RAM (VRAM), but Nvidia’s RTX 3060 Ti is only available with 8GB of VRAM. Either IO Interactive has recommended an unsuitable graphics card, or 8GB of VRAM is adequate for 1080p 60 FPS gameplay. Either way, a mistake has been made.

IO Interactive has confirmed that they have been working with Nvidia to bring DLSS Upscaling and DLSS Frame Generation to 007 First Light. The game will be available on PC on May 27th, with pre-orderers getting a free Deluxe Edition upgrade and 24 hours of early access.
