Resident Evil Requiem PC patch optimises RTX 40/50 performance

Capcom releases its first PC patch for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom has officially released its first PC patch/update for Resident Evil Requiem. This update includes stability fixes that make the game less likely to freeze or crash on certain hardware configurations. Additionally, this update also adds performance optimisation for RTX 40 and RTX 5o series GPUs. Thanks to this update, some systems may see performance increases of up to 16%.

Capcom has recommended that Nvidia users use the latest GeForce drivers for the best experience. We recommend Nvidia’s newly released GeForce 595.76 Hotfix driver, which includes fixes specifically for Resident Evil Requiem.

Resident Evil Requiem March 4th Patch Release Notes

The primary focus of this update is addressing path tracing performance and GPU-specific stability:

  • Performance Optimisation: Resolves a bug that caused significant frame rate drops (up to 16% on some systems) when using RTX 40 and 50 series graphics cards.
  • OTA Profile Update: NVIDIA confirmed an over‑the‑air (OTA) profile update was pushed for GeForce Driver 595.71 to fix power draw issues specifically in Resident Evil Requiem.
  • Stability Fixes: Addressed intermittent application crashes and “system freezes” that occurred under certain hardware configurations.
  • UI Experience Polish: Improved the localisation UI, including dynamic resizing for text boxes to prevent text overflow in different languages.

Platform Specifics

  • Steam Deck: While the game was initially listed as “Unsupported”, community reports indicate it can now achieve a stable 40 FPS using FSR 3 Balanced Mode following recent engine-side optimisations.
  • Driver Recommendation: If you are still experiencing issues, ensure you are on Nvidia Driver 595.71 or later and restart your PC to force the new profile update to take effect.
