Nvidia upgrades its G-Sync Pulsar monitors with new 1.1.4 firmware
Nvidia improves its G-Sync Pulsar tech with optimised sub-90 FPS performance and a dedicated 60 Hz mode
Nvidia has officially released firmware version 1.1.4 for its G-Sync Pulsar displays, supporting models from Acer, AOC, ASUS, and MSI. According to this firmware’s release notes, this update improves the performance of Nvidia’s monitors when operating at a refresh rate below 90 Hz. Specifically, it eliminates sharp double images when operating at these framerates.
With its initial wave of Pulsar-enabled 27-inch 1440p 360Hz monitors, Nvidia and its partners aim to change PC gaming. Variable Refresh Rates and blur-reducing Overdrive technologies can now be enabled together thanks to Nvidia’s technology. This enables sharp details and smooth motion, giving gamers the best of both worlds. Until now, overdrive technologies could not be utilised effectively alongside VRR.
G-SYNC Pulsar Firmware version 1.1.4 update is available now for Acer Predator XB273U F5, AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV and MSI MPG 272QRF X36 models with G-SYNC Pulsar. You can also roll back to earlier firmware versions.

Another upgrade this firmware delivers is a dedicated “fixed 60Hz” strobing mode, which is great for older games locked to 60 FPS. This is great news for gamers who want to play older PC games that benefit from fixed refresh rates.
The firmware update includes G-SYNC Pulsar optimizations, eliminates sharp double images when operating under 90 FPS, fixes the in-monitor FPS indicator when below 90 FPS, and adds a fixed 60Hz strobing mode (for games locked to 60 Hz).

With this update, Nvidia is showcasing the benefits of its latest G-Sync modules and their updatable firmware.
