AMD Ryzen 7 X3D CPUs pricing hits new lows in the UK

AMD’s Ryzen 7 X3D CPUs have all received price drops in the UK

Only a few months have passed since the release of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D (review here), and the CPU is already available at a discounted price. In fact, all of AMD’s currently available Ryzen 7 X3D CPUs are now available at lower prices in the UK.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D is now available for £50 less than at launch, and AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D has seen a similar price drop. AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D has seen a smaller price drop of £31, narrowing the price gap between the 9850X3D and 9800X3D.

All of these CPU options are great for gamers, with all models featuring 96MB of L3 cache. While the Ryzen 7 7800X3D uses AMD’s older Zen 4 CPU architecture, its much lower pricing makes it an attractive option for more budget-conscious PC builders.

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D £349.99 £329.99 £302.10

With DDR5 memory prices remaining sky high, it is likely that AMD is seeing lower-than-expected demand for its Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. This could explain AMD’s price decreases. Even with this price drop, upgrading to a DDR5-based memory platform is a tough ask. After all, DDR5 kits that once cost £90 are typically available for over £330 today.

For budget-focused gamers, AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a CPU of great interest. It costs almost £100 less than a Ryzen 7 9850X3D and still delivers great performance. That said, AMD’s new Zen 5 architecture and boosted clock speeds make AMD’s Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs stronger performers. Regardless, the 7800X3D’s significant cost savings make it a solid offering in today’s PC market.
