EK launches new direct-die water blocks for Intel and AMD CPUs

EK has revealed a new generation of direct-die water blocks for Intel and AMD CPUs

Last year, EK released their first direct-die water block for delidded Intel CPUs, and since that launch CPU delidding has seen a significant increase in popularity. Now, EK have returned with a new generation of direct-die CPU water blocks, and it includes models for both Intel and AMD processors.

First up, we have a direct-die water block for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors. This block features a cold plate design that is purpose-built for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors. This block features a new channel design that directs 100% of the bock’s flow over AMD’s CPU chiplets. This water block delivers optimal cooling potential to delidded AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, enabling lower CPU thermals and, potentially, increased overclocking headroom.

EK has also released a second-generation Intel water block for delidded LGA1700 processors. This water block features a range of design improvements, and shares “almost no parts” with their previous generation direct-die cooling solution.

Like their new AMD direct-die design, this new Intel block design features a new mounting mechanism. This new mounting solution from EK ensures that ysers do not apply to much pressure to bare CPU dies. This block also features a new fin structure and a redesigned cold plate.

Sadly, EK has not revealed when these new CPU water blocks will be available to purchase. We expect to hear more about these water blocks later this year.
