I’m still in love with the MSI Maestro 900 PZ
MSI’s MEG Maestro 900 is launching this year, and it has a removable motherboard tray/test bench!
I fell in love with the MSI Maestro 900 PZ at CES 2025. As you can guess, I was delighted to see the case reappear at Computex. Now, the case has a new build inside, and I’ve finally gotten a look at some of the case’s most interesting features. The good news is that MSI has confirmed that their Maestro 900 is due to launch in Q4 this year. The sad news is that this case will cost a whopping $599.
I’m a huge fan of MSI’s Maestro series. Last yearâs Maestro 700L (review here, build here) case was big and beautiful. With the Maestro 900, MSI has made it bigger and has made the caseâs iconic side panel window cover three sides of the chassis. MSI was crazy to build a case like this, and we love them for it.
One of the more interesting aspects of this case is that its motherboard tray is removable. This tray can be installed inside the system in one of four directional configurations. This enables a variety of PC build options for hardware enthusiasts to explore. Furthermore, the motherboard tray can also act as a test bench, a useful feature. Honestly, MSI could probably sell this as a dedicated test bench. It looks very functional.
It’s big, it’s beautiful, what more can I say about the MSI Maestro 900 PZ?
MSI’s Maestro 900 PZ is a crazy PC case. It’s as far from “normal” as you can get. That said, this is what makes it special. The bold design of this case takes MSI’s Maestro 700 design to a new level. Now, we know that this PC case will be launching this year. This is not a prototype that will be lost to time. If you want one, there will be a chance to buy one.
With space for 420mm liquid cooling radiators at the top and bottom of this case, the Maestro 900 can generate enough airflow to cool any modern PC. It also has enough space to fit even the largest of PC components. Just look at how an RTX 5090 SURPIM looks inside this case. It almost looks small!
If you remember, we gave this case a “Best of CES” award in January. There’s a part of me that also wants to give this case a “Best of Computex” award as well. I won’t. However, I will let the record show that it was considered. Props to MSI for creating some solid cases in its recent history. Instead of buying this case because it has an MSI logo, the Maestro 900 is a case where you buy other MSI parts because you love this case. That’s the power of a good case. That’s the power of the Maestro 900.
