Custom MSI Maestro 700L and Project Zero Build
Introduction
Introduction
The famous sculpture Michelangelo once said that all he had to do to create David was chip away all of the marble that didn’t look like him. Whilst that tale might be apocryphal, we can all relate to seeing something in its completed form as if that’s how it was always meant to be.
When we first set eyes upon the MSI Maestro 700L we just knew that there were things we could do with it. The design was just so inspiring. Any time a manufacturer makes the effort to build a product that is easy to customise, our ears prick up. MSI have built three. All of them have been covered on these pages. There is the MSI Maestro 700L PZ case. With a massive window, plentiful cooling, and full support for back connect motherboards, it’s a superstar.
On the subject of back connect motherboards, regular readers will know of our love for the MSI Project Zero motherboard. It isn’t just a great entry into the Z790 range. With easily removeable heatsink elements we could customise it without breaking a sweat. Additionally the back connect aesthetic ensures it looks smoother than a supermodels skin. Customising a case and motherboard is one thing. However, with the MSI RTX 4080 Super Expert being just as simple to disassemble as the MSI Maestro and Project Zero, we knew we had a project on our hands.
MSEye-Candy Video
We’ve got photographs for you on the next page. However, the candy red paintjob is the kind that you can only really appreciate in motion. Rather than keep you on tenterhooks, we’ll offer up the video here and now. That way those of you who are impatient can get your fix immediately. In the meantime if you like to pore over the details then our photos are on the next page. Onwards!
