Leaked Ryzen 7 9800X3D Review Date Highlights AMD’s Confidence

AMD’s leaked Ryzen 7 9800X3D Review Date showcases a confidence that Intel lacked with Arrow Lake

Last week, AMD confirmed that their first Zen 5 X3D CPUs would launch on November 7th. According to the leaker @9550pro, AMD has set the review embargo for their Ryzen 9800X3D. This leaked review embargo for AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D is November 6th, one day before the CPU’s official release. Contrast this to Intel’s Arrow Lake launch, where their Core Ultra 200 desktop CPU reviews landed when retail availability started.

This leaked Ryzen 7 9800X3D review embargo highlights a confidence from AMD. AMD is happy to give customers time to read and analyse reviews properly before their new CPU release. AMD knows that their Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be a popular CPU amongst gamers, and that means that they are safe to allow reviews to be released ahead of retail availability.

Leaked marketing slides for AMD’s new 8-core X3D CPU highlight 8% faster gaming performance than its predecessor on average. While that may not be enough to encourage 7800X3D owners to upgrade, it may prompt a lot of PC gamers to move to AMD’s socket AM5. With Intel’s Arrow Lake CPUs failing to impress gamers, AMD’s latest X3D CPUs are undoubtedly the best options for PC gamers. Add on AMD’s plans to support their AM5 CPU socket long-term, and an AM5 system seems like a solid long-term PC gaming investment.

Having reviews launch ahead of retail availability is a small thing, but it is undoubtedly good for consumers. It gives consumers an opportunity to analyse the pros and cons of new hardware and judge whether they really need to upgrade their systems. Releasing reviews and products on the same date isn’t consumer-friendly, especially for products with limited supply at launch.
