ASUS teases next-gen OLED tech ahead of CES 2026
ASUS promises boosted clarity with its next-generation OLED technology
ASUS plans to make a splash at CES 2026. Alongside its upgraded “NEO” series motherboards, ASUS has started teasing a new OLED monitor with next-generation technologies. In the teaser below, ASUS has teased “perfect blacks” and “zero fringing”, promising users a better experience in both productivity applications and gaming.
With the promise of “clean text” and “zero fringing”, it looks like ASUS will be the first company to utilise LG’s new RGB Stripe OLED technology. This new panel technology uses a full RGB pixel structure and doesn’t include an additional white LED sub-pixel, unlike LG’s WOLED panels. This increases text legibility and reduces colour fringing. This makes text easier to read, resulting in a sharper overall image.
If ASUS is using LG’s RGB Stripe technology, ASUS’ new ROG screen should have a 27-inch size and a maximum resolution of 4K. LG has confirmed that it has created a 27-inch 4K RGB Stripe OLED panel that supports 4K at 240Hz and 1080p at 480Hz. This allows users to switch between high refresh rate 4K and ultra high refresh rate 1080p with ease.
Sadly, a lot of key information is unknown about LG’s RGB Stripe OLED technology. Does LG’s loss of its white sub-pixel affect maximum brightness? Furthermore, it is unknown what ASUS has done to achieve “perfect blacks”. We expect to see LG and ASUS unveil these details at CES 2026 next month.
