Major Price Cuts – Nvidia RTX 40 SUPER Pricing and Specifications Leak
Nvidia’s RTX 40 SUPER series are effectively a price cut with new branding
Pricing for Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40 SUPER graphics cards have leaked once again, corroborating the pricing leaks from earlier this week. Nvidia are due to launch their GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series on January 8th at the company’s “Special Address”. If these prices are true, it confirms something that we have long suspected. The new RTX SUPER series is little more than a thinly veiled price cut.
Nvidia’s RTX Super pricing leaks come from @Zed_Wang on X, and Moore’s Law is Dead on YouTube. Both reveal a $599 price tag for Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER, a $799 price tag for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and a $999 price tag for Nvidia’s RTX 4080 SUPER.

The GeForce RTX 40 Super series is effectively a price cut for existing models
Nvidia prides themselves on being the world’s number one GPU producer. Nvidia does not like cutting the prices of their products. Optics are everything when you are at the top of the market. That’s why Nvidia prefers to release new products with new prices instead of cutting the prices of existing products.
4070Ti-S is on par with 4080 in most of the games.

Nvidiaâs strategy is that they will never price-cut their products officially. They will launch new products with the same performance at lower prices instead.— MEGAsizeGPU (@Zed__Wang) January 6, 2024
There’s a reason why Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4070 Ti SUPER feature specifications that are very similar to an RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 respectively. Yes, both new models are lower-end products, but not my much. What’s more important is that both GPU models feature much lower prices than their most similar non-SUPER counterparts. Beyond that, we have the RTX 4080 SUPER deliver higher-end specifications at a lower price than the RTX 4080. With this model Nvidia are delivering more performance at a much lower price.
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series will give AMD and Intel a lot to be worried about. This series of product launched from Nvidia could result in price cuts from AMD at the high-end. It could also force Intel to rethink their ARC Battlemage release plans/pricing.
