MSI RTX 5080 Gaming Trio GPU leaks

MSI’s GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Trio GPU has been pictured – 16GB confirmed!

Images of an MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Trio GPU have leaked on Chiphell (via Videocardz). This is the first Nvidia RTX 50 series GPU design to leak onto the web. The boxart confirms some of the GPU’s specifications, though some details remain under wraps.

On the rear of the RTX 5080’s box, we have confirmation that the GPU has 16GB of GDDR7 memory over a 256-bit memory bus. The GPU uses a triple-fan cooler design and appears to be more than two PCIe slots wide. This GPU’s packaging also notes support for three DisplayPort connections and a single HDMI output. These ports are expected to be DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.2, respectively.

Sadly, this GPU’s packaging has revealed no RTX 50 series technological changes. MSI are advertising the same AI enhancements and features as they did on their RTX 40 series GPU models.

Nvidia is due to reveal its RTX 5080 graphics card on January 6th. Rumour has it that the GPU will become available on January 21st. Recent specifications leaks state that Nvidia’s RTX 5080 has 10,752 CUDA cores and a 400W TDP. This is 10% more CUDA cores than Nvidia’s RTX 4080. However, it should be noted that the clock speeds and architectural benefits of Nvidia’s RTX 50 series architecture are unknown. Rumour has it that this GPU is 10% faster than today’s RTX 4090.
