UK has “ample” day 1 RX 9070 series GPU stock – retailers confirm

AMD’s day 1 supply of Radeon RX 9070 series launch is amazing

AMD is launching their Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT on March 6th, and we’ve been asking retailers what day 1 supply will be like. To say the least, AMD’s day 1 stock/supply of RX 9070 series GPUs will be amazing, at least when compared to Nvidia’s recent RTX 50 series product launches.

While we cannot confirm exact numbers (we need to protect our sources), we can say that AMD’s day 1 supply of RX 9070 series GPUs will be “ample.” At least that’s how one retailer described it.

The UK has a lot of day 1 RX 9070 series GPU stock

Based on the information we have gathered from multiple retailers, AMD may have more day-1 RX 9070 series stock than all of Nvidia’s RTX 50-series GPU launches combined (at least in the UK). Retailers will have a much larger pile of GPUs inside their warehouses to sell. As such, we do not expect AMD’s new GPUs to sell out as quickly as their Nvidia counterparts.

A GPU launch done right?

Recent GPU launches have been appalling. With day 1 supply being too small to meet demand, PC builders often cannot purchase the products they want. What’s worse is that this often forces people to buy GPUs at prices far above their manufacturer’s MSRPs. What option do gamers have when higher-cost GPUs are the only GPUs available?

With the launch of their Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, AMD has supplied retailers with more graphics cards than any GPU launch in recent history. We don’t expect these new graphics cards to be instantly out of stock. However, we expect demand for these GPUs to he high, which means they will likely sell out at some point. Regardless, this high level of supply means that buying one of these GPUs on day 1 is a realistic possibility. Kudos to AMD for actually attempting to launch a graphics card with sufficient supply.
