Windows 11 users should update their GeForce drivers immediately
Nvidia addresses Windows 11 Performance issues with new GeForce drivers
With the company’s new GeForce 591.44 WHQL driver, Nvidia has fixed a major performance issue facing Windows 11 users. Since Windows 11’s October 2025 update, some games have run significantly slower on Nvidia graphics cards. This includes games like Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. In some cases, gaming performance is almost halved.
Nvidia has previously released a Hotfix driver to address these performance concerns. However, hotfix drivers are less well-known and less widely used by Nvidia’s user base. This makes Nvidia’s GeForce 591.44 WHQL driver the first mainstream GeForce driver to address this issue. This means that this driver will restore the lost performance that Nvidia users have experienced in many games.
Fixed Gaming Bugs
- Users running R580 branch drivers (58x.xx) or newer may observe lower performance in some games after updating to Windows 11 October 2025 KB5066835 [5561605]
Nvidia’s newest GeForce driver also addresses a range of other bugs. This includes Battlefield 6 stability issues, performance issues in Black Myth Wukong, and freezing in Adobe Premiere Pro. Furthermore, this driver enables 32-bit PhysX support in many classic games when used with RTX 50-series graphics cards.
