Ubisoft delays earnings report and halts stock trading

Ubisoft delays earnings report 15 minutes before its investors call

Ubisoft has officially delayed the release of its H1 2025 earnings report, cancelling its release 15 minutes ahead of its scheduled investor call. During this time, Ubisoft has also suspended all trading of Ubisoft stock, aiming to “limit unnecessary speculation and market volatility”.

The question today is simple. What’s going on at Ubisoft? Ubisoft has not confirmed when it will release its H1 2025 earnings report or what has caused the delay of its release. Is Ubisoft facing accounting issues? Is some form of acquisition in the works? Are Ubisoft having financial issues? Ubisoft claims that it cannot provide any information on the matter until they are ready to release its earnings report.

Below is an internal Ubisoft email from the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Frederick Duguet.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you know that we are taking extra time to finalize the closing of the semester, and as a result we will publish our first-half earnings results in the coming days instead of tonight.

Due to legal regulations, we cannot share more information with you at this time. To limit unnecessary speculation and market volatility during this short delay, we have asked Euronext to suspend the trading of our stock until the results are announced. We know this is likely to raise questions and drive media coverage. I encourage you all to listen to the conference call – which will be available via the Investor section of our site — just after the results are released so that you have a more detailed view of our earnings.

Thanks for your understanding.

Fred

It is unclear why Ubisoft opted to delay its H1 2025 financial report. To say the least, this behaviour is highly unusual. We have been told to expect Ubisoft to release its report “in the coming days”.

The past few years have seen Ubisoft’s share price collapse. Ubisoft’s share value is down almost 50% year over year. Will Ubisoft’s H1 2025 report be a positive or a negative for the company? We will find out soon.
