A new Dragon’s Dogma 2 patch has landed, but it doesn’t boost CPU performance

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s latest patch fixes a lot of bugs, but PC performance remains awful

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has received a new PC patch, and we are sad to report that the update does nothing to address the game’s horrible performance. We have benchmarked the new update and have found no performance changes when compared to the game’s prior version. Sadly, this means that the game’s framerates will still dip massively in large towns and cities.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s new patch is primarily aimed at bug fixing. Specifically, fixes for several progression-blocking bugs have been implemented. Additionally, terrain bugs that caused characters to get “stuck” have also been addressed. Aside from this, some “miscellaneous bugs” have been fixed.

Sadly, Capcom’s patch notes for Dragon’s Dogma 2 are not very clear. That said, these fixes will be very welcome to players of the RPG.

If you are waiting for Dragon’s Dogma 2’s planned performance update, you will need to wait a little while longer. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a hugely CPU-limited game on PC. While the game’s first update did lessen the issue, the game’s PC performance remains a total mess. Let’s hope that Capcom can address this issue soon, as this game would really benefit from some CPU optimisation.
