AMD’s lag-busting Anti-Lag 2 tech is now available to all game developers
AMD launches their Anti-Lag 2 SDK to developers and promises FSR 3 integration
AMD has officially launched their Radeon Anti-Lag 2 SDK to developers. Theoretically, this allows any DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 game to be updated with support for AMD’s lag-busting technology.
AMD Anti-Lag 2 is an evolved version of AMD’s original Anti-Lag technology. Simply put, it delivers deeper latency optimisations than AMD’s original driver-level Anti-Lag technology through direct game integration. Developers can integrate AMD’s new Anti-Lag technology into the optimal point inside their game’s logic to achieve maximum latency reduction.
Thanks to this technology, users of AMD RDNA 1 and newer GPUs will enjoy more responsive, less latent gaming experiences. That said, developers will need to integrate this technology into their games.

Radeon Anti-Lag 2 is “coming soon” to FSR 3
AMD has confirmed that their latest anti-lag technology will soon be integrated into a new open-source release of FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3). This will allow developers to integrate both technologies into their games simultaneously. Since anti-lag mitigates the latency downsides of Frame Generation, this is an excellent move from AMD. Additionally, this should help boost the adoption of Anti-Lag, as it will be packaged with AMD’s more popular FSR 3 technology.
It is unknown what other benefits will come with AMD’s new version of FSR 3. AMD recently launched an improved version of its driver-level Fluid Motion Frames technology, so it is possible that AMD has improved its FSR 3 Frame Generation technology using similar methods.
