Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered will Look and Play Better than the Original – Here’s Why
For starters, the game will see a resolution boost to 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with both enhanced consoles receiving 4K versions of the game. Beyond that, the game will gain better vegetation, enhanced lighting, improved character detail, skin shaders and increased crowd densities in cities.
In terms of gameplay, Ubisoft looked at fan feedback for the game and decided to make a large number of gameplay changes, adding a new minimap and UI to make the game more user-friendly while also adding features from other Assassin’s Creed games to make stealth a more viable option within the game. In Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, players can do dual assassinations with their hidden blade and whistle to attract guards to tall grass or towards other locations for a quick stealth kill.Â
Users of ranged weapons will also be able to freely aim, a feature which was unavailable in the original Assassin’s Creed III. This change should make items such as bows and muskets a lot easier to use.Â
Judging from the game’s latest trailer, the remaster is also expected to run at 60FPS on console platforms, which is a huge step up from the game’s original framerate. The original PC version of Assassin’s Creed III offered PC players an unlocked framerate, so the same feature is expected to be available within the game’s remaster, though ultra high framerates did cause physics issues in the original.Â
As part of Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered’s improved lighting system, the game will start using physically-based rendering on many textures and objects, a feature which is used by most modern AAA games to allow environments to appear more realistic in-game.Â
Assassin’s Creed III Remastered will release on May 29th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
