Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s “Gameplay trailer” contained surprisingly little gameplay
Yes, we saw some longboats, Stonehenge and a lot of Viking imagery, but what did we see very little of? Gameplay. This is a nitpick, but developers really need to be clearer when it comes to setting expectations, as this trailer is primarily made of in-engine footage, not gameplay. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that expected a short gameplay demo or a trailer which showcased more gameplay.
Within the trailer below we get to see a lot of Saxon England, Eivor’s crow companion, a siege battle and a selection of weapons which will be available within the game. Expect a lot of dual-wielded weapons, throwing axes and more within Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as well as the return of the hidden blade.Â
Ubisoft has also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will be a smart delivery title for Xbox Series X. This means that the Xbox One version of the game will allow Xbox users to access the Xbox Series X version when they upgrade their console. That’s great news for those who plan to upgrade their console in the future. Â

Thankfully, Ubisoft supplemented their “gameplay trailer” with a short interview with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Creative Director, Ashraf Ismail, who discussed the game in more detail. Â
