Creative Assembly releases their first trailer for Total War: Warhammer II’s Mortal Empires DLC

We have long known about Total War: Warhammer II’s Mortal Empires Campaign, a free DLC that will come to owners of both of Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer titles. Today, CA has given us our first glimpse of this new campaign, showing us the colossal map as well as battles between the Skaven and Empire, Orcs and Dark Elves, Dwarfs, Vampires and Lizardmen and more.

In this campaign, all factions from both games will be playable, with the exception of Norsca, a recent addition to Total War Warhammer who will be added to this new campaign later. This means that there will be 37 total Legendary Lords who can duke it out in Total War’s largest sandbox to date.

Here the campaign map will comprise both the old world and the new world, offering a total of 295 settlements and 117 factions to conquer, with the campaign’s lack of an overarching narrative giving players a reason to conquer the world as they see fit.

Creative Assembly will be releasing their Mortal Empires Campaign Free-LC on October 26th, requiring both Total War: Warhammer I and II to play.

Creative Assembly has confirmed that all of the new features of Total War: Warhammer II will be included in this campaign, like rogue armies, treasure hunting,  sea encounters and climate suitability. Factions will no longer be limited to specific locations on the map like in original Total War: Warhammer, though certain areas will be more suitable to certain factions than others.

It has also been confirmed that Total War: Warhammer III will also have a crazy sized campaign map, which will add an even larger map to the game that contains the regions used in Total War: Warhammer II’s sequel. Creative Assembly has not thought of a name for this epic-scale campaign map, only calling it “A Very Big Campaign” in their recent blog post. This campaign will only be available to owners of Total War: Warhammer I, II and III.
