Cyberpunk 2077 is now playable from start to finish

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 has passed another milestone, confirming that the game is playable from start to finish as Gamescom 2018. The demo showcased at the event was reportedly similar to what was shown at E3 2018, though it focused a little more on character creation and a new in-game weapon. 

Starting with character creation, it seems like Cyberpunk 2077 allows players to pick their gender, background and appearance at the start of the game, delivering a more Mass Effect-like vibe when it comes to the game’s protagonist. This is a far cry from the Witcher series, where everybody played as Geralt of Rivia, with the only difference being select character-defining actions throughout the game series. 

The weapon highlighted was a cyberpunk katana, a sword that is capable of deflecting bullets, not like a Jedi but by using a magnetic field. There is more to Cyberpunk than just gunplay. 

While the game is fully playable, assets for specific areas of the title need to be created and playtesting, and bug fixes are still required, which means that the game remains far from completion. It is also likely that more side-quests and other activities will be added to the game before its launch. Right now, Cyberpunk 2077 has no firm release date.
