GTA VI will not be launching this year, Rockstar Games confirms

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will no longer release this year. Now, the game is due to launch in 2026 on May 26th. That means that gamers will need to wait for more than a year for GTA VI to arrive on consoles.

Rockstar Games has stated that they need extra time to exceed the expectations of gamers. The studio says that this extra time will enable them to “deliver at the level of quality that you expect and deserve.”

GTA VI was initially revealed in 2023 and was due to launch later this year. This delay will cause waves across the games industry, as many developers have worked to make sure that their games would not release alongside GTA VI. Now, those plans need to change, as GTA VI is no longer releasing in 2025.

So far, Rockstar Games has only released one trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Despite the game’s hype, gamers still know very little about GTA VI. Rockstar has also given no indication of when the next trailer for the game will be released.
