Mafia looks great with this new RTX Remix mod

The original Mafia has been reworked with Nvidia’s RTX Remix tech

A modder called PashOK_ has released an RTX Remix mod for the original PC version of Mafia. Thanks to this mod, the game’s lighting has been completely overhauled, and ray traced reflections are now available on vehicles and other reflective surfaces.

Despite being a game from 2002, Nvidia’s RTX Remix technology has helped to give this classic game a major overhaul. That said, the game’s recent remake (Mafia Definitive Edition) looks much better than this RTX Remix. This is due to the remake’s use of all new game assets, models, and animations

While this RTX Remix mod is impressive, it only scratches the surface of what Nvidia’s RTX Remix technology can do. Nvidia’s RTX Remix tech can also be used to replace the assets of classic games with newer, more detailed assets. Gamers can also use Nvidia’s tech to replace textures with PBO (Physically Based Material) properties. These techniques are what Nvidia used to create Portal with RTX.

This year, we have seen many games get receive the RTX Remix treatment. Need for Speed Most Wanted and Need for Speed Rivals, and Deus Ex now have RTX Remix mods. An RTX Remix mod is also available for Tomb Raider.
