Modder takes The Witcher 3 to the next level with HDRP NextGen Edition 2026 mod

Halk Hogan’s taking his hit The Witcher 3 mod to the next level with wind simulation and more detailed characters

Halk Hogan has released a new video detailing his upcoming “HD Reworked Project NextGen 2026” mod for The Witcher 3. With this mod, The Witcher 3’s visuals will be taken to the next level with more detailed textures and characters. Additionally, wind simulation has been added to many items within the world, adding more realism to the game.

Static objects now move with simulated wind. Cloth now flows and billows in the wind. All characters are becoming more detailed, with a focus on Geralt’s (and Roach’s) armour and equipment.

An earlier version of Halk Hogan’s HD Reworked Project officially became a part of The Witcher 3 as part of its 2022 “next-gen” update. That’s how good this mod is. Since then, the mod has been further updated and improved. That said, the mod’s planned “NextGen 2026” update promises some major changes.

Hello again my witcher friends!  I’m back to share some fresh progress on the HDRP NextGen Edition. As you can see in the video, many objects will no longer be static and will now have wind simulation. All characters will also be reworked, along with all armor and equipment for Geralt and Roach, everything will now be much more detailed. Of course, this is just a small part of all the changes that will be included in The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition 2026, which will be available later this year. Thank you and have a nice day!

The Witcher 3’s HD Reworked Project NextGen mod is a must-download

The Witcher 3 is a visually stunning game, but it’s from the HD era. The game was built for last-generation consoles and 1080p screens, not the modern 4K displays. It contains many low-resolution textures and assets. These look out of place on a modern high-resolution gaming display. The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project addresses these issues with new textures and other visual enhancements. Since all of these textures respect the game’s original artistic intent, they make the game look much better without making it look very different. Furthermore, the mod has a minimal performance impact. It is truly a must-download mod for The Witcher fans.

Honestly, this mod is a must-download for any Witcher fan. It’s available for free through Nexus Mods. This mod has over 500,000 downloads. Special thanks to Halk Hogan for their continued efforts to improve The Witcher 3’s PC version. We are looking forward to your mod’s 2026 update.
